Must be SOME engine in that car, judging by the picture of the speedometer......115 mph and he was able to take a pic of it! I'd be holding on for dear life at that speed !!!!!! laugh

Hey Bob, I think you were looking at the radio dial! The speedometer is at 0. I like the oil can under the hood.

What a great original car.The engine paint even looks original....Probably would qualify in all four catagories for being original in HPOCF certification...would be very unusual for a car of that age.the front floor mat is about the only "wrong" thing + the spinner and grille guard.Good shot of a 1937 Super DeLuxe heater in the original blue color.

Prior to WWII my folks rented out one side of our garage to a school teacher that had a Town Sedan that same color...Being a low milage car it was still like new back then. She traded it in on a 1941 Specail Deluxe Plymouth 4 door with white walls. It was a cream color.Very impressive looking also. She had shopped the local Chevrolet dealer and she had the 1941 Chevrolet catalog with the prices marked in it for the models she was intrested in.She gave me the catalog and I still have it.Was on of the first pieces of Chevrolet literature for my collection. The dealer name is also stamped on the front and it is the dealer where I began my career in 1950.

Now when I think back 1941 and 1950 seem to have been at least twenty-five years apart.

Possibley match the paint on the front mudguards as well. A very well preserved piece of engineering.

For some one that appreciates an original and considering its loaded with accessories I would say its worth about $12,000.....Its a car that would be better for show than driving....If driven the engine would need to be overhauled plus a lot of other prevenitive work.Sounds as if the tires are old as Mobil tires haven't been around for years.

If the mechanicals were refreshed for saftey, dependibility, and engine would not self destruct it actually would be a good car for limited driving (not an every day driver). One big advantage is that you wouldn't need to worry about nicks and scratches.
At the very minimum and if the rods are not making noise I would remove the oil pan and clean the pump screen and check the rod oil pipes for restrictions.Don't be fooled by the low milage as due to the old oils, possible lack of changing oil and short trip driving the engine could have heavy sludge and lots of wear. Also was not unusual to overhaul (not rebuild) these engines at 35,000 miles.

Very nice 37, but one item would need some very careful rework. check the bottom of the grill at the crankhole. Looks like someone was careless with the crank.

As it is it would be a HPOCF car.....the "work" ie,replacing "bad" parts or painting would prevent it from being a HPOCF....By the looks of things in the present condition it could be certified in the interior, exterior, and engine compartment areas for sure.....and probably the chassis also if no one repainted the frame and suspension.
