Hi 55-57 people, I normally post in the '38 and '48 forums as those are the year cars I have. However, my '48 has a '57 235 chevy engine and I have a question as to what is the correct carburetor for it. Presently it has a '60-62 Chevy/GMC truck carb and I want to replace that with the correct one for my engine. The problem is there seems to be a plethora of them on ebay all advertised as being for '55-57 Chevy but there seems to be two models. One model has a wide flange to hold an air cleaner on with a clamp and the other has a narrow flange with a bridge across the throat where a bolt goes to hold the air cleaner on. Which is really the correct one for my engine? Thanks. Beamer

Sorry I forgot to respond to your last email. What you would want is a carburetor from a 1954-1959 truck (hand choke). The 1948 style air cleaner will fit to that unit. A 1950-1953 235 would work but the 1954 and up is a better carburetor.

Chavgene, As I mentioned in my email to you today with the photos, I am thinking of putting the right '57 carb on. Was either one in the photos the correct one for my '57? Beamer
