what is the proper way to seal a front door vent window the rubber am using is from steele rubber.also do you put a bead where the small metal piece (think called rain or wind deflectors)are at the top of vent window i have a tube of 3-M glazing stuff that i used on the windshield and i think it would be ok to use on the vents but just want to make sure.one of my older glass guys said he *never* uses any silicone products when he seals any type of car glass thanks andy

If you have a show car that is never going to get any water to it, you can get by without any sealer. If your car is out in the weather it will eventually leak. I would advise a thin bead of sealer that wont get hard between the glass and the rubber and wipe off any excess. just my .02 $ Tom

I was referring to the w/s for some sealer, not the vent windows. Thanks, Tom
