Hi guys,
I'm new to this chat room. I have purchased Rebuilt Rear Shocks from Apple Hydraulics. What I need is the shock link bushing 'sleeves' thst are at the top of the link where they attach to the 'lever' on the shock. Apparently the bushing also has some kind Sleeve between the rubber bushing and the pin, which attaches it o the lever. Any help and or advice is greatly appreciated.

The top of the link to the shock arm attachment is a rubber bushing "built into" the link. A new link is required if rubber is worn. The lower rubbers are replaceable. In 1942-1948 both ends were like the top end in 1939-1941.

Roy, Welcome to our chat site, shock link parts are available from www.chevsofthe40s.com and www.fillingstation.com and www.Kanter.com When you place an order ask for their catalogs they are priceless for their illustrations especially Chevs of the 40's. All new links are pricey $40-60 each so you may want to purchase just the new rubber bottoms for them. This works out if you think the metal shafts and top rubber bushing is okay, sounds like yours may not be. I just purchased new front and back shocks from Apple, and have yet to get enthused about changing out the front ones. Hope to "Man UP" in the next week or so. Best wishes, Mike P.S. I bought replacement bushings for the shocks on my '38 and they came with the copper sleeve inside the bushings. I don't remember if I got them from Chevs or TFS.

The top "connection" is completely different on the 1938.

Thanks for the help, guys.
I found that Kanter has what they claimed are NOS shock links for $44.00 each, so I ordered them. I'm a bit concerned that if they are, in fact, NOS, that the rubber bushings could be in questionable condition. I found that neither Chevs of the 40s or the Filling Station have the proper rubber bushings for the top or bottom of link.
At any rate, I'll see what these look like and let you know.
