On a 1947 Chevy 216 which spark plugs are a good replacement that I can buy at the local parts store. I've read other threads but it was focused on originality but I'm more worried about availability and reliability. Any tips?

Your choice is very limited on the 10MM spark plugs used in 1947. The AC M-8 worked as good as any. Durability should be no problem with unleaded gas the lead deposits will not form on the plug so cleaning should never be necessary. Expect about 10,000 miles of service out of the plugs.

AC M8. It's what it came with when new. My local NAPA has them in stock. Gap .40. Good luck

I forgot to ask about spark plug wires, are they available at most local parts stores also?

I bought the set on my '41 from the Filling Station - pre-cut, look good and work well.
