Anyone know of a front wheel hub for sale or better yet a wheel with the hub. How different is the model t hub and wheel?

Original chevrolet hubs for the 490 model are not easy to find. The outer thread area is very thin and does not provide much metal to support the outer bearing .
The model T Ford front hubs can be used as substitute. There is a few differences , the outer threads are shorter, but the payoff is a better supported outer bearing . The outside of the model T hub has a recess just back from the hubcap, and before the wheel spokes, so they do look a bit different.(Original 490 hubs are parallel). However if you look in a 490 owners manual, the front wheel sectional view shows the recess in the hub.!! .
The 490 hubcaps will fit on the T model hubs without a problem.

Your 1916 490 should have non demountable rims, and your front rims were originally 3" wide , and the rears 3 1/2 " wide.
If you still have the 3" wide rims try to retain them for originality.

As the wheel with nondemountable rim is only used for 1916 and partly 1917 you are searching for the "needle in the hay stack." Both to 490 and F**D, but still you can find one after a eiod of searching. The profile of the spokes to a 490 are not same as to the T-F**D.

I was lucky to buy front hubs from Canada on eBay, but to get a spare wheel I had to buy a new from Calimer's Wheel Shop/USA, supplying the metal parts. http://www.calimerswheelshop.com/

Try to search on eBay and elsewhere on Internet for the metal parts.

I have two hubs, in fact I have a fairly complete chassis including the frame, springs, axles including the hubs. I am sure it is all original. I would like to get rid of it Cheap! Contact me if you are interested and I can send pictures.

Do you have any idea of the year model? Is it a roadster or touring type? If you can post some pictures here it will help all of us.
