I ordered a hinge pin/bushings from Chev's of the 40's, but it is not the same as the original. It has some serrations at the top under the head? Is this the correct replacement? What do you suggest for replacements? I also noticed the ones on the car where not fully drove down into the hinge, the top of the pin was sticking up about 1/4 inch, is this normal or has someone been monkeying around with them?

Hi Tim, Welcome to Chevy Chat, please tell us what year car you have so we can be helpful. In the future it is best to post the year of your car in the heading of your post. I for one have a lot of experience with 41 Chevys and would be glad to help you with pictures and advice. Thanks, Mike

I would have thought the serrations are necessary. I bought some new ones from my local supply store. They are for a modern Ford product but the diameter is correct. I will have to cut them down in length.
I believe the head should be all the way down on the hinge.
My 1951 1 Ton is now on the road! My 38 Master 4 Door is also now on the road .

All the ones I've ever removed have the serrations. Maybe that helps keep them down flush to the hinge.

The serrations are necessary to keep the pins from turning in the upper hinge section and also eventually working their way out.
