Hello Roxy1, and welcome to Chevy Chatter!

Your serial number (it's not really a VIN number like they are today) breaks down as follows:

14 - Baltimore assembly plant
JB - Passenger or Sedan Delivery (Master "85")
12 - Month of assembly (December)

The remaining numbers are the sequential assembly number sequence, starting at 1001.
