Hello everybody
My name is Karl, I live in Austria. I am new to this forum and I am new to the Chevy world.
Since being allowed to drive a car I have been a lover of French cars and that is unchanged.
But now at the age of 50 I developed a high appreciation of the 32 Chevy model. Last November I could purchase a 32 Chevy Sport Coupe which was advertised on quite a few car sales platforms in the internet. An Austrian firm which specializes in car imports did the whole procedure of transport and import handling. Now it is in my possession since a few weeks. It is a project car which will require lots of work. Probably next year I will get around to start the restoration.
What puzzles me at this point now is the correct identification of that car. I have the original title from 1932 and it says “Chevrolet Deluxe Sport Coupe”. In a publication I have I found the production numbers of the various Confederate models.
There I read
Coupe 5 window 34796
Deluxe Coupe 5 window 26623
Sport Coupe 2/4 passenger 2226
Is it possible that my car belongs to the latter category with the low production number? Or am I wrong? By the way the serial number is 1BA01-7449.
It has dual side mounts and chromed bonnet flaps. The wheels are 5,25 x 17. And can anyone tell me the difference between a Deluxe Coupe 5 window and a Sport Coupe?

The 5 Window Coupe has a trunk and plain front fenders, no cowl lights. The Deluxe 5 Window Coupe has side mount fenders, cowl lights plus a few other accessories added at the factory. The Sport Coupe is a 5 window coupe with a rumble seat and not a trunk.

Your car is a 1932 model year (BA) was assembled in plant # 1 Flint, Michigan in January (month 01). It was the 6449th 1932 assembled in the Flint factory (car numbers began with 1001). Apparently someone has changed the wheels and tires as it should have 5.25x18" tires and wheels. My records show 26623 Sport Coupes (including Deluxe) produced during 1932 model year. The Deluxe 3 Window Coupe is shown as 2226 produced. The 3 Window Coupe only had a trunk not a rumble seat.

Thank you very much for your quick and helpful reply. Now I know what I wanted to know about my Coupe. I am a bit puzzled about the wheels now. I compared many photos on the internet and saw that the 1935 Chevrolet has wheels which look very much like those on my car. Can anyone tell me if the wheels on the 1935 were 17”? So what will happen if smaller wheels are on the car?
Will it be not so fast but better at climbing uphill?
Are there any statistics or figures or estimations about how many of the 32 models are still around today? Were they ever exported out of the US while in production?
In Argentina are quite a few as far as I know. Were they assembled there?
A lot of questions from a Chevy greenhorn like me. Thanks for any hints.
