As I am painting and reassembling my rebuilt 216 I need to know where I should be using sealants and which ones are recommended. In the past I have used Permatex Form a Gasket #2 on all bolts that go into the cooling system. I have also used it where the the oil pan gaskets mate. Are there any other areas I should use it? Checking previous posts it seems that gaskets do not require extra sealant on them?
I have also used a very thin coat of anti-seize on the exhaust manifold bolts. Is this okay? Thanks, Mike

For some excellent information on motor assembly take a look at Tech Talk further down on the Forum. Although the information in the "School is in Session" (new), is on a 4-cylinder many of the principals apply to both the 6-cylinders and V8 cylinders.
