Is there such a thing as a '73 Malibu SS Coupe without bucket seats and floor shift? I was looking at one today and question not having bucket seats in an SS.

The SS option was available on coupes and the wagon. It cost $243 and bucket seats, etc. were optional. Most items it did include was emblems, dash cluster, specisl (larger) front and rear sway bar, 14 X 7" ralley wheels, and white letter tires.

Gene is correct. Not all SS cars came thru with buckets. A friend had a 70 LS6 SS Chevelle with a bench, my 73' SS Nova has a bench as does my 69' Firebird 400 coupe. I also have a front bench for a 67' Camaro sitting in the loft. Bench seats are an uncommon option and honestly I prefer them over buckets and a console. My Camaro is actually an uncomfortable car to drive...

Actually the bench seat was not an option. It was standard equipment. The buckets were the option.
