I have a windshield wiper arm & blade from The Filling Station. Does anyone have information as to how the arm attaches to the wiper motor? Thank you...JIM

It's an installation from hell. There was instructions with mine. Hopefully I didn't throw them away. I'll look.

James, the end of the wiper arm fits in the hole close to the end of the motor's shaft, then; the spring-loaded cover of the arm is pushed up over the end of the motor's shaft and mates with the groove in the shaft.

Hi Bill: This might be the wrong arm; I do not see how this will fit. Besides, the peg that goes in the hole has the blade position 90 degrees off. JIM

Jim, it should be AF-345. Which of the ones pictured do you have?

Been a long time ago when I did that but IF memory serves right there is the part that the arm goes onto to. This knob like is placed onto the wiper transmission shaft and is held in place by a pin. I made the mistake of trying to put the wiper arm on first without the knob like thing. Then the wiper arm is attached over that knob. But that might not be right and the site guys will correct me if wrong. Good luck there.

Terrill, I think you are talking about the adapter that allows one to use a later type wiper arm inplace of an original wire-type arm. There is an adapter on ebay right now.

I now know I have been putting my wiper on correctly but until the above pictures I have been unsure. So thanks for them. BUT, even though I am installing them correctly, it seems as though it does not fit very well and could easily fly off. I have only used the wiper twice when being judged otherwise it has not been turned on.

I think I have the correct motor & wiper arm for a '34 standard but not completely sure. Were there slight variations in the motor shaft and/or the wiper arm in different years/models? If so, that may explain the loose fit. I could not get a reproduction wiper arm to work on the motor shaft (way too loose and bent easily) but finally found an"original" which works better. Thanks for any replies!

Mine doesn't feed that solid either. I had to bend it a bit to get it to apply a bit a pressure on the glass.

Hi Pat: This subject opened a can of worms. The 34 is at upholstery, but I worked out a deal with the upholsterer to work on the car. JIM

Pat,

I went down and bent my wiper arm a bit more than I had before and that does make it seem more "solid". Thanks again for your helpful pictures and taking the time to reply. James, I'm sorry if my questions are part of your can of worms. Hopefully you don't think I was high-jacking your thread.

Pat, That was a great picture of assembly. I could not copy it. Where did you get it?
