Looking for someone that can recreate the headliner for my 1946 Carryall Suburban. I have 98% of it (there was a small section of one panel that was cut open to let the animals out) and it is fairly intact. Just need someone that can take the original and make a new one from the original as a pattern. Any suggestions as to who I contact or anybody that has experience with these?

Tim, your fortunate you have the old one for a pattern any good trim shop should be able to sew a new one for you. When I restored the delivery Acme Headliner in Los Angles cut and sewed my vinyl. Last year I re-did the interior and cut the old headliner apart for a pattern and sewed up a new one in toupe body cloth. [img]http://i1232.photobucket.com/albums/ff361/9teenforty1/027.jpg[/img

Your headliner looks really nice! Thanks for the lead on your supplier. My original headliner is a cloth (almost canvas like) material. The color is very odd in that it almost looks like a light olive drab which seems odd. I can't tell if it is just because of its age, fading and dirt or if it really was more if a green tone vs a tan. I assume it was more of a tan/brown. My wife actually thinks she can sew it (she has a window treatment business) but I need to find a supplier of the material if I am going to have her try it. Sounds like they may have the material I need.

As for the 1940 burb. Somehow I totally missed that one! Thanks for sharing. Looks like it fetched a good price.

NICE HEADLINER!
IS IT ALL WOOL? OR A BLEND?
I FOUND THE BEST SUPPLIER FOR SOME OF THE "CORRECT" INTERIOR COLORS , BUT NOT CHEAP, BUT THE LONGER I LIVE, I FIND THE BEST IS NEVER CHEAP, AND CHEAP IS SELDOM THE BEST.
BUT YOU HAVE A REAL NICE COLOR , ANY MORE INFO ON IT? I CAN BUY MY WOOL IN BULK, OR HAVE IT SEWN, TO THE HEADLINER, BUT WOULD BE INTERESTED IF ACME WILL TAKE A ROLL, AND RETURN A NICE HEADLINER?
CAN YOU SHED MORE LIGHT ON THAT INFO?
