in the kc 1/2ton, where should the power wire for heater fan switch connect?..  epi

There are two places it could be connected: A. Connect to the amp meter. (Disadvantage is that you must remember to turn the heater off after each use). B. Connect to the switched on position on the ignition switch. (Disadvantage is that is more current through the ignition switch, but you have an automatic off when you turn the ignition off).

I would use the ignition switch to activate a relay switching the ammeter to the heater power. This gives you the best of both worlds by putting low current through the ignition switch to help its longevity and allows the use of heavy gage wires on the high current connections.

I use a relay. It's not correct but can save your battery if you are forgetful like I am.
