I have checked with my local glass shop about getting a rear view mirror re-silvered and he dose not know of anyone. Can someone recommend a place to get this done. I'm located in NEPA. A search of this site did not help. Thank you

The local glass shop should be able to cut a mirror to size and then grind the edge. If not you can get a replacement from Snyders Antique Auto Parts. http://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/

Thanks Chipper I will check with them. As far as the glass shop doing it. I just asked about re-silvering but I will ask if they could cut and grind one.

I always thought that mirror silver just came in a spray can... that's how I've done mine before.

I wonder how that would work for the inside of headlight buckets?

now that is a good idea, my headlamp reflectors are old, worn and dull.
I wonder if anyone has tried this spray can item?
I have sent an email to the company asking them if it can be used, but I think that it can only be applied to the rear of glass and shine through for the effect to work?

update:
I have checked with the company in the link and they say that the spray can silvering is only for the back of glass and the finish shines through the glass as it is in a conventional mirror.
I also asked if they knew of any other product that can be used for refinishing headlamp reflectors, to repair or re-coat the silvered surface.
I am awaiting a reply.....

Hey guys, I only posted the link because the original question was about an internal glass mirror needed to be re-silvered.

When I had the headlight buckets done on my 1929 I took them to an electroplaters who replated them in silver and they came up pretty good.
