Over the past several months I've made some postings about the excessive pedal play in the new clutch in the '31 I'm restoring. I received a number of thoughtful replies, some private messages and a picture schematic from a gentleman in Australia (jack39rdstr). I had no end of frustration trying to get things to work properly.

Today I decided to start from scratch so to speak. I assembled a couple buddies, all the information I received from VCCA members, the manuals, schematics etc.; then disassembled stuff. We pulled the transmission and clutch assembly then reassembled and readjusted everything according to the book and the helpful suggestions offered by you all and voila..it works properly.

I wish I could say that we had a "eureka" moment that revealed what we'd missed or done wrong before but nothing seemed to leap out. Anyway, the clutch is reassembled, the toe board back in place, return spring attached and transmission/drive train back and the clutch works fine. Thanks to everybody who offered advice and encouragement.

Best Regards,
Tom

Glad to have Chat and its contributors to have been a help. That is one reason Chat exists.
