I'm looking for a replacement urethane or rubber spring shackle bushing set for my 29' roadster. Auto Zone tells me they can get me 39' 1/2 ton truck shackle kits for around $36 per shackle. Is there anyone who has eliminated the OE metal bushings for the rubber ones that can offer a few suggestions?

Not an expert on your year but call Jim Carter Classic Truck Parts Tech Help line at 1.816.252.5857 They do a lot on suspension parts. You will have to give sizes vs. year to match up your needs. Use the cross reference book. Also there are some spring guys in Hemmings Motor News that advertise. Good luck on it.

The rubber and urethane bushings are a lot thicker than the metal style. To use these you would need to increase the inside diameter of the spring eye.
