I am doing an amateur restoration on my 64 SS and would like to paint my fender extentions and the bumper filler a correct as possible color. I would prefer a rattle can color and would like suggestions. Thanks Jim

Are you talking about the front fenders?

The part that I am referring to is between the fender and the grill. Small curved part that is silver on most all cars that I have seen.
Thanks,
Jim

When I restored my 63 Chevy II SS convertible in the late 90's I needed the silver accent paint for the cove in the trunk lid. My Dupont supplier ordered from the factory, Dupont Lucite lacquer 4244L Argent Silver which was an exact match. The Dupont factory label on the can lists the model year coverage as 1961 - (blank). I also recall that the late 60's rally wheels on Camaros and Corvettes also used a silver paint also called Argent Silver. This is available in rattle cans from any of the Camaro and Corvette parts places such as D&R Classic Automotive. Lastly my Dupont paint chip sheet from 1983 shows a GM wheel color listed as Stock No. D8236, Bright Argent. Hope some of this helps.
