Hello Everyone,
I'm looking for pics of original '37 MD floor front floor mat. I have to replace the one in mine and need to see how it it is cut to pass around the pedals.
Thank you for your help.

Here's the original out of my '38. The '37 should be similar if not exact. The NORS mat I replaced it with but it didn't last long since the rubber was so old and brittle. ![[Linked Image from i47.photobucket.com]](http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f167/Tinys1938/IMG_1896.jpg)

Thank you Tiny,
My original mat is missing the section around the steering column. The material I found is no where near what is original. But it will do the job. I plan to post a pic in the future and if the response is favorable I may try sell a reasonable price replacement. Can you tell me the center to center distance of the starter pedal hole to the throttle pedal hole? I will need it if I should get a request for a '38 mat.

Tiny, Could you tell me the hole diameter of the throttle pedal hole and the starter pedal hole?

The throttle has two holes, top & bottom. I made mats for a while & sold them on ebay. The material wasn't anything like original but served to cover the floor with rubber instead of carpet. I made a pattern using my old mat. At the time repops weren't available so I made my own. I liked it enough that I offered a few for sale. I couldn't sell them for enough to make a profit, just barely cover expenses so I quit that. Below is the first mat I made. I'll take a few measurements off of the pattern.

Tiny, that would be great. To be honest, I'm not looking to do anything more than supply people with an affordable piece for their cars. When I was much younger and drag racing it seemed that everyone was looking to make a fortune. For 25 years I tried to get back into it but because of the cost to race, parts, and ever expensive rule changes I decided to sell everything. After I received my '37 MD from family, I needed to purchase parts to make it safe to drive. What I found was the people I am dealing with are extremely reasonable with the price of the parts that I needed. I think I would like to treat others in this hobby the same way.

After looking at my pattern it reminded me of the fact that my original was so worn that an exact measurement is nearly impossible. On the mats I made I cut very small holes as close to the center of what opening was there and left it to the buyer to cut-to-fit.

Thank you Tiny,
The material I used was meant for the running boards but it didn't have the ribs like the original. The mat looks good but it's a bit thicker than the original. So when I tried to remove it to pull the trans I really had to wrestle with it and it was difficult to get at the battery cover. I did a little research and found a mat that I think will be easy to work with getting it in and out of the car and give a finished look to the interior. Once it's installed I'll take pics and see how it's received by our group.
Except for the starter pedal hole, your original mat looks like my original should have. My '37 MD has the throttle pedal starterator system so my mat doesn't have the extra hole. Any info you can give me would be great.

i have some older replacement mats in black, they have the correct holes cut, these were sold as a replacment mat from the 40`s or 50`s. aftermarket item, so no bowtie or fisher emblem only have 1 or 2 left if anyone is interested.

Hey MR59 - I'd be interested in one of those mats that you mentioned. I'm a proud new owner of a '38 Master, which is driveable & nice except for the sad bunched up old carpeting & no remnants of a mat. Please PM me to let me know how much you want, and to exchange the necessary info.
I'd like to do some accurate measurements before installing the mat, so I can make a drawing to post so others can cut out their own.
Thanks, Joe VCCA #48757

I made a mat for my 33 coupe.I started by laying down cardboard poster paper and making a pattern with all the cuts. The nice thing is if you make a mistake you can tape another piece over the mistake and re-cut it.Then I sat my pattern over the floor material, traced around the pattern and cut the new mat out.I am very happy with how it came out.
