I am having trouble with the lighting/ignition switch on my '25 Touring. When I turn on my ignition switch, the ammeter goes to discharge. When I turn on the PARK lights, the drivers park light comes on but not the passenger side---tail light comes on. Ammeter barely moves to discharge. When I turn switch to ON or DIM only the tail light comes on. Test light says I have power to headlights and passenger park light. Battery ground is tight, and battery is charged. What am I missing? Relay problems on generator? Coil? I am stumped.

From your description it sounds like the vehicle is not running when you made the tests.

You could have possible burned out bulbs on the passenger park light and the headlights or a bad ground on the passenger park light socket and the headlight sockets.

With the ignition switch on and with any of the lights on, when the vehicle is not running the amp meter should show a discharge because it has current draw.

Your problem could be the wiring or the switch, or the switch is bad. Is the center keyed and is it for the ignition?

Do you have an Owner's Manual or the Service Manual for the 1925?

The circuits are labeled on the back side of the correct ignition/lighting switch. The circuit diagram is located in the back of the above manuals. Both are available for a reasonable price in reprint.

If you can't get your system working give me a PM.

Thanks Skip and Ray for responding. It turns out that my problem was grounding. I figured it was probably that since my tester said I had power to the lights. Chasing electrical glitches can be so much fun.

Glad that you found the problem. If a light bulb is not burned out and there is power to the bulb, most often it turns out to be a bad ground issue.
