I bought a new no. 1 6-volt for my 41 last week. Got an Interstate. Cost me hundred bucks. Wow! Anyone else noticed the jump in batteries lately. Charlie

Six years on my Optima so far and still going. It was $100 then. I'd hate to think what they cost now.

Tractor Supply has 6 volt Group 1 Exide batteries, with a 12 month warranty, for $70. That's about what I paid 18 months ago for the one I'm using now.

Hundred bucks ain't bad...I think it was a year ago I got one from a friend wholesale and I was surprised it was still seventy something...I usually see them around $112...

Hate to say it but I got the last one from O'Reilly's at a cost of about 75 bucks, had more cranking amps than what I had been purchasing from a local farm supply dealer. Checked the parts house cause the farm supply price had moved upwards about 20 bucks.

I also have had luck with O'Reilly's 6 volt at about $80.The back up battery I still use from time to time was from Schuck's prior to the name change $55.

Not To change the subject but Schuck's there is a name I have not seen since I left Seattle in 1959. The store I remember was on 15 Ave NW in Ballard.

Andy's 29 Schuck's has been gone in the NW for about 5 years now...Don't know if it was sold or just a name change
