Would anyone have the measurements of the part # 348627 which is the Stand Pipe for the 1928 Chevy National AB carb...looks to be a brass pipe i think i can make one from 3/8" OD 11/32" ID hobby brass tubing but i need the total length or at least the length protuding up from the cast base also any precision holes up the length if so what dia. and distance. Seems this pesky part dissapeared over the span of only 40 years.Imagine that! any help appreciated.

Is the original pipe soldered or pressed into the threaded base?

Should this read: Neither, the standpipe is die cast. The standpipe is available ONLY as an assembly, and not as two separate parts. ?
Is it common to find the original pipe part seperated from the base because of deterioration?

Are the replacement Repo parts sold by The filling station machined or die cast brass? There isn't a picture in the FS online catalog.
I am just curious, as usual.

Are the threads 13/16" by 24? Did you have to have a special tap made to chase the threads in the carb body?

The original standpipe is a die casting. It is not a two (or more) piece assembly. The original was "white" or "pot" metal or "die cast", depending on what name people choose to call it.

The replacements I get are machined from brass. Not 100% sure if they are the same as the ones The Filling Station supplies as I don't get mine from them.

The threads are 27/64" x 24 tpi. Yes a special tap is required though a 13/16" x 24 tpi tap will do a better job chasing the threads than a dental pick.

the only dental pics I could find were 27/64 x 24 might have to change dentist to get a 13/16 x 24 pic though
