I tried doing a search on this but I guess my computer skills are some what limited. Need to know the firing order for my 26 Chev, Also where should the # 1 plug wire be on the distributor cap.

All 4 cylinder Chevys are always 1-2-4-3.
You usually see # 1 on the cap being toward the front of the car, or rotating around to some extent to the passenger side a bit.

If the distributor cap is not marked for #1, how do I determine how to set the wires. I am having a problem with my spark! I have my battery fully charged, I have spark from the coil!
But one question, I have 6 Volts going into coil, but around .10/.11 coming out. If this is not normal, could I have a bad coil? It is a 6 Volt coil.

If the points are closed then you will only measure a small voltage at the negative post. If points are open you should have 6+ volts. If not then there may be a problem. There is no specific terminal on the cap. Many locate No. 1 at the tab. Locating the rotor under No. 1 wire position when No. 1 cylinder is in the firing position is critical. Also the firing order.

Thanks for the correction, didn't read far up on posts to realize that we were talking about a 4 banger and not a 6.
