Rebuilding 1945 235 ,all original sheet metal was missing.I have a couple of 216 pans but according to the old motors manual these are two different pans. They also say the dip channels are at different settings.will the 216 pan work?

The 216 and 235 pans are the same EXCEPT if purchasing a new pna and installing it oon a 235 engine the dipper troughs must be readjusted. Due to the longer stroke of the 235 the bottom of the rod (and dipper) extend down 3/32" lower. If this is not done the rod/dipper could hit the trough.

Thanks Gene for the reply ,Ive thrown a lot of small chevies together with little consider for failure ,but latest posting of the 41 chevrolet engine problems gives me great concern to pause and reread the old manuals !
