I recently received a 1936 Chevy 1-1/2 ton truck. The truck had no keys and I am trying to figure out the best way to remove the cylinder and replace it with one that has keys. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there and welcome to Chevy Chatter. Hope that you have a good time here.

Regarding the removal of the ignition switch from the electrolock, I think that your 1936 shop manual has instructions on how it should be removed. If you don't have a shop manual you can purchase one from the Filling Station in Lebanon, Oregon. www.fillingstation.com

In the meantime, someone here may post an answer to your question.

Good luck with your project.
