Hello, what oil viscosity and/or other oil characteristics should I use in my stock '39? What would be a good brand? I have been using a 10w 40 Valvoline year round. Thanks for your input. Garbo

Your choice of oil is fine. If it ain't broke don't fix it! If the oil pan has never been down, it would be a good idea to pull it and clean it out. For the amount of time spent in removal and replacement it is well worth the effort.
