I didn't find the year of the engine. If it is a '29-'34 there are no core plugs on the front of the block or head. Only water pump and outlet that are connected to the coolant passages. There is a core plug mid engine on drivers side and one on the back of the block. So if you have a leak it may be coming from a crack. Also could be a hose connection. I am not familiar enough with the Standard engines.

I had a similar recent problem in my 34, it took a while to find it. It turned out to be coming front the pump grease fitting. It looked like it was full of grease but further inspection revealed the grease was sitting accross the opening just under the screw adjuster and poking around I found that it had very little grease in it and the water had made a small hole in the grease which enabled it to leak past the threads. I repacked it and it stopped. Chris
