2 questions-
1. does anybody make a replacement buld for the headlights that is brighter than the stock ones ? like halogen?
2. on the top of my front fenders there are small marker lights. they look likr teardrops- are these original? i have 1 spare in the parts boxes. if original are they marker lights or where they for another purpose?

thanks
Joe

Back in the day they were used as parking lights. I also think cars from Canada had them.

AS Jack indicates, fender mounted parking lights were not on Chevrolet in '31 (not even in Canada), but were common to Pontiac. Could be Pontiac fenders or a retrofitted park light by a previous owner.

The original headlight bulbs were 1110 (21cp/21cp). Most people use 1000 bulbs (32cp/32cp). An alternate is 1188 (50cp/32cp). Routinely use 1000. Never tried any 1188s.

Local parts store will probably not have the bulbs in stock. Some may be able to order them. Antique auto parts companies like The Filling Station or Model A part suppliers like Snyder's Antique Auto Parts will have them in stock.

A 1931 chevrolet deluxe roadster with dickey seat was also available from Oshawa only which also had fender lamps fitted.
