The rear springs on my 46 areo are getting tired and I want to replace them. I can get spring kits for the 41-48 trucks but have not found them for the cars. (Chassis Engineering kits)
SO -- my question is --will the truck spring kits fit my areo.

(Hope everyone had a MERRY CHRISTMAS)

Have you given re-arching ( heat-treating ) any consideration...? Properly done it shouldn't be a problem..."Properly done" is the key in this case...Look for a place that "that" is one of their "specialties..."

...Oh, and forget the truck springs...

Bob, I know nothing! However, my Hollander's Interchange (junk yard) says, "'40-'48 Passenger & Pickup, Station Wagon & Sedan Delivery". Who knows how dependable that info is?

I would have thought the pickups would have stiffer springs. However, they might still interchange. One would think they would need to be changed out in pairs.

Maybe someone here has tried 'em.

I would be a bit leery of getting my leaf springs from junkyard unless I was going to have them (re-) heat treated anyway...This is something I also have to look forward too, as I see the drivers-side a little lower on mine, as well...Less than an inch.

Which means the front springs should probably be replaced...But that's easy...

Can you believe I found a pair of NOS Mint leaf springs at a swap meet 5 years ago. paid $50 for the set. Probley the best deal I ever had with my 47. I would also have to agree about looking into re-arcing them, staying away from bone yard springs.
