Gidday Fellas, It's caption time, unleash your imaginations and cut loose a little to finish off the sentence. "Sorry officer but - ![[Linked Image from i710.photobucket.com]](http://i710.photobucket.com/albums/ww107/grant81/IMG_20121218_042600_zps49aadc05.jpg)

Sorry Officer,
but its broken down again, and the dang thing wont start.
Some say "Street is neat". I prefer "1928 is great" I have documented my 45 years with a 1928 Chev Tourer, from 1973 to 2018, and regulary add other items that I hope are of interest to others. Your comments are most welcome. The story of the Red Chev can be viewed at http://my28chev.blogspot.com/

True story.... I actually saw a cop pointing a radar gun at my 27 in an 80K (50MPH) area a while ago. I was flattered.....

Sorry Officer but you are mistaken, the car is named Monty... I did not say anything about the full Monty. No sir, I am pretty sure I was not speeding - but I admit I was peddling as fast as I can! Towing a boat? Oh, no sir the anchor is for stopping. G'day to you too sir.

Hey Frank, Were you close enough so you could see if he was laughing? I have several times exceeded 50 mph in my stock '28 Coupe. It seems to like to go that fast. Engine builder paid attention to balancing pistons and rods to give a good static balance. Did not opt for the dynamic balance. Didn't think I would need it and so far so good.

Sorry Officer,
But if you believe my 28 is speeding then you need glasses, here try mine, they make a 5 look like a 3.

Chipper, He looked deadly serious, and maybe a bit frustrated. Must have been an optimist! This 27 tourer seems most comfortable at 33MPH. Over that there is some vibration - I suspect a worn bush in the torque tube or some wear in the universal joint, but haven't ever got around to checking it. Mostly, with the two wheel brakes, this is more than fast enough in heavy traffic. I dread traffic lights on a wet day! Frank.

I am with you Frank, anything over about 30-35 is just plane bragging. My 1 ton is flying at 33 mph and I don't want to go any faster (or at least I convince myself I don't), cause that IS top speed and that is all she was designed to go. Ahhhhh but I love it!

Sorry Officer but I think you are SORRY! Have you nothing else to do but pull me over for driving 5 miles over the speed limit?. Did you get tired of shaking down the drug dealers that are on every street corner in that town we just passed through? Or maybe you take the easier way out and spend your time closing down church sponsored BINGO games for illegal gambling so you can push around blue headed old ladies. I can see your point though I know you was pushed around and bullied when you went to grammar school and only took the job as a cop to "get even" with society for your hurt.
Well give me the stinking ticket and than go home and tell your wife that you had a good day and caught a violator of the law.
BTW if your wife does not have your supper ready slap her around like you do when you come home drunk after loosing at bowling with your so called buddies who are just as paranoid as you......Ed
I was only wrong one time in my life so far. But that time I was right, and only thought I was wrong....ED

The local story is that in spite of the warning sign "the guy got out of his car 84 years ago to go have a piss in a wild game sanctuary and the animals got him". The car was left by his family in his memory.

In NC: "Sorry Officer. Are you going to give me a ticket? Yeah? Well, then you can cut out the sermon." (A friend of mine actually told a NC state trooper that back in the early fifites. Oh, yeah. He got the ticket.) In southeastern OH, it would be "Sorry, officer, I do declare, I think my 'celerator stuck plum wide open back there. Ain't that right, cousin Peggy Sue? It's okay now, though. Er, ... say buddy, y-all mind not shinin' that there six-cell mag in the back seat: Sue's a-trying to get decent back there." Anywhere in TN, "Sorry officer, I waz jest trying to make another haul in this here ol' 38 before before I traded 'er in fer a 41 but the doggone binders went out coming down that there grade back there and I couldn't slow 'er down. Yeah, I put your quart in the usual place. No, I ain't kilt no raccoon just to get his tail so's I could tie it right there to that there hood ornament. Say, wanna hear some banjer pickin?" Charlie

True story. 1971 Sacramento CA area. Doing 80 on the freeway that's posted 65 in a 1966 Toyota Crown Wagon.
"Sorry officer, but my speedometer is broken (as I reached under the dash and pulled the speedo cable out into view). I didn't realize how fast I was going."
My good friend in the back seat piped up, "Give them a break, officer. They just got married." (True, two days earlier)
I got off with a warning and no ticket. I promised to get the speedo fixed (never did).
Cheers, Dean

As the new officer was writing the ticket, some flies kept buzzing around him. The officer commented that "the flies sure are pesky!" Buddy says "them there is circle flies" "What are circle flies" asks the officer? Well says buddy "around these parts they are flies that keep circling around a horse's arse!" "You calling me a horses arse" says the officer. "Oh no sir, but it sure is hard to fool them circle flies!

"I'm sorry officer but I don't understand why you pulled me over." "Did you want to sell me a ticket to the policeman's ball?" To which the officer said "Policemen don't have balls......".

Sorry Officer,
But I have just fitted these new wind wings (do you like em by the way) and the sun was reflecting off them straight into my eyes. That was when I looked down at the speedo, could not read it, looked again and took my eyes off the road for just a second. Now how was I to know that just swerving over one lane of the main highway would cause such a problem.
Damn fool Kenworth should be able to stop on a dime anyway.
So you see officer, its not realy my fault, and anyway do you like my wind wings
