I thought some of these might be of interest to a thread on the '29-'32 section, and to the posting here on the ID of a Metal Tire cover. And of general interest to others. It is an interesting foreign article about a 33 Master Phaeton......ENJOY.....and any interpretation would be great too..... blush

Jeff, now that right handed beauty 33 master is a sweetie. I copied the text and will try printing it out to see if i can read it.

From what i could make out in the text the car was built and assembled on the Buenos Aries, Argentina GM assembly line & produced 543 of these. More information like this for production numbers are like GOLD to have.

My 35 roadster RHD was also supposedly assembled there too altho there is nothing on the car to say it was. Some of the original wood was brazilian walnut, extremely hard wood and some of it was mahogany.

Note the cowl lites on the car and the luggage rack in the rear. Both left and right hand tail lights. Correct 33 rad bird and left hand side welled fender with irons and clamp.

Too bad no wind wings. Nice chromed horn.

Interesting on the rear window on the top, that frame is different than north american built cars.

Here is a Google translation of the article:

It was reinforced in the Argentina and for almost 70 years was in the hands of their original owners and treaty as a genuine relic. After so much time this auto - of which only occurred 543 units - returns to settle nearby, in Rosario, of a factory of the brand.

PHOTO CAPTION FIRST PAGE
The Chevrolet "made in Argentina" in the State in which manufactured and maintained since 1933. The era documents issued by General Motors at the time of purchase are reproduced in page.

The Chevrolet that have in the Argentina in 1933 and by which its original owner pay slightly more than three thousand dollars has become, 68 years more later to stand for its history very close to a factory of the brand. After so much time and so many miles, this Chevrolet Master De Luxe can almost see, coming out of his garage, the factory that General Motors rose at the entrance to Rosario.
This car is a curious case since it responds to the characteristics of a car whose worldwide production barely reached 543 units and assumes that it is the only one that is "alive" in the Argentina and one of the few examples in the world.
Confirmation of this singular fact gives a plaque that is located under the front seat that reads "Product of General Motors Argentina". Tracing these always so diffuse sources of classic cars, in this Chevrolet your steps can be recounted with absolute precision almost from the moment that launched it for the first time.
The documentation of this car starts with a receipt issued by the Agency Chevrolet the Berlingieri, in Buenos Aires, which recognizes a Lord Jose Hervia having deposited a hallmark of thousand pesos on December 6, 1933 by reserve a car for the brand. Next village is issued another receipt in which the owner of the car delivered to the Agency the sum of 2,740.50 pesos with what the total price of the purchase is complete. However, know that the car bought it between three friends and that recently the death of boiled, the step Chevrolet at the hands of Raúl Sánchez, another of the original owners.
In addition to these two documents survives the warranty certificate signed by the own Director General of General Motors which describes the car as a "model Phaeton De Luxe" designation this posed a real mystery since the United States only occurred in this vehicle in its Standard version does not exist in the official catalogues such designation.
However, everything has an explanation and research shows that the Argentine market from that then admitted only cars with some touches of luxury. Logical reasoning that leads to this definition is that the car in question is origin, unlike those produced in the United States, equipped with a radio RCA, boot from the Board instead of the... End of partial article.

The Chevrolet engine corresponds according to catalogues to a closed Master model but which was adapted into the Argentine production in times of crisis. The covers of metal wheels nor correspond to the American version and constitutes a true originality.

Here is the rest of the article. Can't say that the Google translate is perfect, but it is understandable.

... common in the footswitch, double wheel wrecker with covered wheels of metal only offered as an accessory in source or in the higher price segments cars because it was a touch of distinction.
The subsidiary of General Motors in Argentina during those years only arming cars based on the items produced in the U.S. and who arrived in the country. Therefore, this Chevrolet was baptized as De Luxe in the country were added a series of elements that only they were optional and not responding to a model of this denomination which, on the other hand did not exist.
It was a unit assembled by GM Argentina tailored to the market is that moment that required a more sophisticated than conventional model to compete with lowest price with the most expensive and luxurious cars of other brands that had no market due to the crisis that was lived. We must remember that at the time they occurred and sold this car, the crisis unleashed in the thirty year was at its highest peak.
The Chevrolet that we are discussing has been preserved in its originality since it was in the hands of the original owner and then, after his death, by a partner for nearly 70 years, then it was acquired by a partner of Cadeaa, Santios "quique" and it was always like a jewel care so their degree of originality is of one hundred percent. Not long ago, it is in the hands of Juan Alberto Molinari, an enthusiast of classic cars and especially the Chevrolet.
Engine is one of the oddities of this "Argentine" model as in the catalogues of the GM, those 543 cars to which we referred, contained with an engine of 2,960 cm3 and 60 HP at 3,000 rpm. The model that we are discussing was equipped with 3,390 cm3 motor and 65 HP at 2,800 rpm that mobilized the closed Master version of the brand. From there the long name of the car which identifies it as a Phaeton Master that refers to Phaeton by body characteristics and Master by your engine.
This engine change responded to the strategy of the local market, namely offer "a car of greater luxury and power at the price of an ordinary auto".
The old "made in Argentina" product of the GM maintains all its original details, some of them damaged by the action of time but that none of its previous owners have wanted to modify in pursuit of the extreme originality of auto maintenance. For that reason, the painting reveals the action of time, state that earned him an award for originality of the last classic Auto of the C.A.C.

Looks up, the security system covers valves anti/theft that was certainly more expensive to replace the missing. To the right you can see the part of back of the Chevrolet which, originally, was carrying wheel wrecker.

Hey Jeff! Thank you for sharing this with us, it was great and the pictures. Interesting side note, as you know there was not officially a deluxe phaeton sold in the US for '32 or '33, but from what I have read, in Argentina they did have a deluxe phaeton. Any Phaeton that had the deluxe parts in the US was something that the dealer added to sell the car.
