Hello I was wondering if someone could tell me if this radio is correct for a 49-50 Chevy. I am going to sell it but I want to make sure what year it is. You can email me at Keitay54@charter.net Thanks Keith ![[Linked Image from i1078.photobucket.com]](http://i1078.photobucket.com/albums/w484/Keitay54/P1040497.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i1078.photobucket.com]](http://i1078.photobucket.com/albums/w484/Keitay54/P1040496.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i1078.photobucket.com]](http://i1078.photobucket.com/albums/w484/Keitay54/P1040498.jpg)

That radio will fit a '49 or '50. I think it may be a '49 because the dial face is brown. My '50 has a grey face.

1949 and 1950 are the same except for color. The 1950 had a gray dial and light gray knobs. The 1949 is browm and cream.

You only have 1/2 of a 1949 Chevrolet PB radio. To make the radio complete you will need the Power Supply/Speaker unit.

Ray, and open to others, as well, I have a 50 and always had problems keeping the radio playing. In my opinion the 49-50 radios were not near as good as the old 41-48 ones were. But, I'm just a amateur here and don't know beans. I think it may have been those itty-bitty tubes. Don't know. What is your learned opinion of the 49-50 radio as compared to others that back then? The 49-50 radio is just as reliable as the earlier radios and when properly restored are very good radios. Actually the 49-50 is the same electrically as the 42-48, just arranged different in the box.

Ray, You've restored my confidence in the 49-50 radio. Mine probably needs a tune up. When I get ready for the work to be done, I'll send it to you. Thanks, Charlie
