What fluid S.A.E. NO. is recommended for a 1936 Standard with a 3 speed transmission for the trans. and differential. My 35/36 repair manual says S.A.E. 160 for the Summer and S.A.E. 90 for the Winter. I live in San Antonio, Texas. I am thinking S.A.E. 90 for both.

If you have a vendor that sells antique Ford parts nearby I would purchase and use 600W. You may also find it at a tractor dealership. If you can't get your hands on the 600W I would use the 160W. I think the 90 is too thin and will leak out of the car onto your shiny floor in the garage.

Approximately 1935 the designation was changed from 600 to SAE 160. Never tried to look up the exact date but am sure that it took a while before all literature and stocks reflected the change.
