Hey All,
The car is in the upholstery shop but they have questions as to how the B-Pillar trim is attached. Something about headless nails or whatnot. I was wondering if anyone could send me a picture of the B-Pillar in their sedan to show to them. And if anyone has extensive knowledge of how it is done that is welcomed too!

Thanks,

Well my 38 is a 2 door but these details might help. There is a separate piece of upholstery that extends down from the roof edge to just below window level. There is a vertical tacking strip for the front door windlace and another vertical tacking strip inside the rear window opening. These are used to attach the vertical sides of the filler piece. There is also a horizontal tacking strip underneath the top of filler piece and this is how the top of it is held on.

My 1951 1 Ton is now on the road! My 38 Master 4 Door is also now on the road .

Instructions from Hampton coach -

"PILLAR POST PANELS

These should be installed before final wire-on strip is put over the headliner tacks. The top edges of the pillar post panels are hidden by the same wire-on that hides the headliner tacks.

Pillat post panels may be glued on in some spots but as original must be blind nailed in a few places. Use an almost headless brad about 1/2" to 1/4" inch long. After brad is driven in lift material free with a large needle and allow it to cover the head of the brad."

On my '40 Town Sedan I used 3M fabric adhesive to glue the mohair material to the B or pillar post panel and then blind tacked the panel to the pillar. Worked fine.
