we're looking for information to properly stripe our '40 kc 1/2ton... we are thinking the base stripe color should be black...and the pair of accent stripes the same red as the nameplate script and grille bars... how wide are the accent stripes?..1/4"?..and far apart should they be?.. finally, how do the accents resolve where the meet the radiator shell nameplate?..do they simply end or do they come together?.. thanks in advance, epi

The only examples I have of how your stripes should look are for '34-'35 and '36 high cab trucks. Can anyone else help here?
Dan.

The 1939 cars had a 1/16" stripe in the center grove of the body belt moulding. It begins on the hood and ends near the tail lamp(the belt moulding that is)
The are four stripes on the wheel.A 1/8" stripe on the outter rim-runs thru the center of the valve stem hole.A 1/8" stripe in the center of the hub with a 1/16" stripe on either side of it.They are about 1/2" apart.Just going by memory-can give exact spacing when I check mine-after the weather gets warmer.
Stripe color depends on color of car.

Chevrolet,The 1940 trucks have a single stripe. It begins at the front of the hood and runs around the cab.The color of the stripe and color of the raised belt moulding would depend on the cab color. The stripe is in the center of the raised belt moulding and continues back from the upper red stripe on the top grille bar.Stripe is about 3/32" wide.

Hi Chevgene: YES it was, LOL. you got me. I havn't even seen it yet. I have been trying to get a car hauler under it. It is coming home today, so they say. I have been waiting for a 39 for a lot of years. I am used to 47s, 48s, & Chevy's of the early 50s. I have wanted a 39 for a lot of years. But it is not perfect, it isn't a 4 door Daluxe. I have always wanted a 4 door. O WELL... I love all of my chevys.
