I have a pair of "plyers" used by my Dad who worked at a Chevy Dealership for over 50 years and no one locally can identify them. The Numbers and letters are J-35984 KMO-USA. I will attempt to enter an image. Can you identify them? Can't get the picture to load, sorry.

I am guessing that the manufacturer is Kent-Moore as the letter and numbers are typical of the part numbers they used to identify their products.

Ah, yes...Vintage Pliers...Made by the Kent-Moore Organization...In the '30's and '40's...

Sorry about that picture posting problem...Photo's must be imported from a photo hosting site...

Thanks for trying, though.

Hi dadsgirl,

The tool must be later than 1947 which is the newest KM book I have.

J-35984 is a newer Kent Moore Tool than October of 1962. I have numerous Kent moore books before that date and it doesn't show up in any of them. The Kent Moore "J" numbers in October 1962 only go up to J-21,000

I used to collect "vintage" mechanic's hand tools years ago...Don't recall collecting any Kent-Moorse...Many Williams and Armstrong and Proto wrench's in the collection...Flea Markets was where I'd find them...Way before the days of Ebay...

the kent moore tools were usually supplied(sold) to chevy or the other GM delaers. i don't think they were ever offered as tool kits for the old chevy as the williams etc were.mike
