A question for chipper our resident chemist !
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Can a additive like (HEET) a moisture eliminator prevent phase separation. That starts to happen when the ethanol in the gasoline gets to it's saturation point with water.

Ethanol inherently absorbs water. (Our classic car gas tanks are vented to the air and moisture can get in easily through the humidity in the air.) hood patriot

Not exactly familiar with the active ingredients in HEET. Suspect primarily Methyl Alcohol or Isopropyl Alcohol. They might help slightly but not enough to make a difference. Seem to remember that Sta-bil and maybe Seafoam have a product to reduce phase separation.

If I remember when I get back home will check further to see what I find. Most of the time you have to read the label to tell what is in there. If they use the IUPAC name or code most will not have a clue but I can look them up.
