Mike Lynch I'm starting this thread for you. The Fisher body tag is only used on Fisher bodies. It is attached to the firewall under the hood. The serial number plate is attached to the floor/seat frame of all Chevrolets whether they are made by Chevrolet or by Fisher. The exception to this is trucks which is attached to the firewall under the hood close to the starter. The other exception is Canadian cars as you well know. The firewall tag is on all cars there whether Fisher or Chevrolet because this is an assy plant tag. I've not seen a serial number plate for a roadster or phaeton but because it the Chevrolet serial number plate, I would guess it would be the same as any other 1934 or 1935 Standard & say Standard on that plate. Make sence? ...Joe
What number is on the title?

Joe..........the number on the title is from a 1934 chevrolet 34-551 master coach. I did not know any better when i purchased the car a year ago. BOZO bros in pulaski tenn USA riveted the metal tag onto the firewall in order to be able to get a title for the car. Car is titled as a 1934 but it is sitting correctly on a 35 chevrolet standard frame.
Yes Canadian built cars had a stamped aluminum metal plate on the firewall for FISHER BUILT BODIES, like my 35 standard coupe has. Also the roadsters built here had a firewall plate similar to the fisher tag, as i have a picture of a canadian built LHD roadster in california with firewall tag but no floor tag. Also like the picture you showed on the other thread.
This also applies to Canadian built roadsters and tourings where the body was built by chevrolet.
The tag i am asking about is the other one in the other thread that i am told is for roadsters and touring bodies only and is nailed to the seat riser wood frame or onto the floor directly in front of the seat. I need a picture of that for 34- 35 standard.
Its my understanding in previously talking to 3 vcca experts on 33==35 chevrolet open cars , that USA built open cars only had this metal identification tag on the floor. My vehicle is missing this floor tag. I have bought one of those repo blank floor tags for chevrolet bodies . I also have a blank laser etched one coming. I will stamp in the letters and numbers needed.
What i need to know is exactly whats on an original floor tag so that i can correctly do mine and have the title redone. None of the 3 vcca experts , despite repeated requests to show me a picture of an original tag, has done so. They or anybody else can ***block off*** the final 4 serial numbers if they think i am after their serial number ????????
I just want the car to have the right tag info and i will supply a new serial number to government.
This car was right hand drive and supposedly assembled on the BUENO ARIES ARGENTINA GM assembly line . It might have been assembled here and shipped to Argentina as one of 40 RIGHT HAND DRIVE roadsters built for export.
I would appreciate help from any VCCA member who has info to share. contact me direct at mike350 at rogers dot com
THANK YOU.........mike lynch ....CANADA
