Can anyone tell me how the door window garnish (the vertical piece) that fits closest to the windshield is bolted in place without extending into the door jamb.
I'm getting the upholstry done now and my installer isn't sure.
It would have to be something flush mounted. It's been 10 years since it was disassembled and I can't remember how it came out.
Thanks
Stanman

That's correct. They use the barrel type nut and an oval head slotted countersink machine thread screw, about 3/4 long by 1/8dia. I found suitable stainless screws at Canadian tire. The bolts look like the nipple on a bicycle spoke end and have a very thin head. I tried Bike Spoke nipples but they were too small, and motorcycle spoke nipples were too big. I could not find a local supplier for the barrel nuts. You may have to improvise.

If you're talking about the triangular piece (black) that holds the windshield in place. On my 30, it's a wood screw like a cabinet screw.

He is asking about the piece that screws/bolts to the front edge of the door to hold the door glass, through the steel door frame which is about 1/8" thick. The gap between the door post and the door is small, perhaps 1/8"-3/16" typically, thus the barrel nut.
