Question..Does the 38 deluxe wheel have a different S-Wire than the standard wheel? I know the deluxe has a different rubber horn pad that holds the S-wire, I need to know if the S-wire itself is a different part? COT40s didn't know. parking

Just measured an NOS one. The S wire in the deluxe horn button is 1" wide and 3 3/4" long.

Just put some pictures in the members section. Only three are the limit in the post. It's a nice recast wheel. Jim

Actually it's a deal. The restorers want a core to rebuild. I've been talking to two different ones.

Whoops I see I replied to this thread in the thread on the "what a beauty" thread. Sorry! I did put some thoughts on the banjo wheel there.

Mine is a keeper. It's taken a few years to gather parts for a complete restoration and the Banjo wheel is just one of the goodies I've beat the bushes for. Also have the fender skirts, 6 tube radio and 4 terminal regulator. Prices when you want this stuff are pretty high, but collecting parts over many years can yield some bargains. The Banjo wheel will eventually be on top of a NOS steering shaft, rebuilt steering box with all new parts, NOS pitman link and drag link, rebuilt knees, etc. My goal is to have a brand new 1938 Master Deluxe Coupe someday. Now I have one heck of a parts collection. This all started with needing to take the front sheet metal off because the radiator was leaking about 19 years ago. Funny thing is I still can remember every part I've bought and what I might still need. I'm at least 90% done collecting parts to basically build a "new" car. I couldn't afford all these goodies if I had to buy them today.

I don't blame you a bit. The wheel is hard to find and very expensive. I can't wait to see the NEW 38 chevrolet. Good luck. parking
