I replaced the Green old welting with new black welting. I decided not to go with the chrome metal welting. I replaced all the bolts/washers in the fenders since it's like the dogs tail and the rocking chair...just a matter of time before the entire front end will need removed to fix a $50 problem (waterpump or timingchain,etc.). mad

I replace ANY bolt that looks rusty or worn. The nut house (local vendor) loves me. I should be getting a gold hammer from somebody for Christmas. popcorn

Way to go! Technically, that looks much better.

Let me see now, I must mention something technical. Umm -errr, how about that changing of a timing chain on that 56 engine? What's that all about?

Just an example. ANYTHING in the front of the engine would require removing a huge amount of stuff just to get to it. Everything seems to be working fine..right now crazy

Steve, You know that black welting really sets off that green paint job on your car. Good Job! dance
Say, I don't have a golden hammer but I did find a rusty hammer my grandkids left out in the back yard. (they said that they didn't leave it out there). doh
Must have been the Grimlins! devil

Would that do til the gold hammer comes in? winner

Not necessarily so. It's possible to change the water pump with everything in place....if you don't mind doing a lot of side to side (working from both sides) movement. laugh

My fan blade is so close that a ground down open wrench won't go in bewteen the fan and radiator.I don't think you could remove the fan without taking some of the radiator bolts loose. I wanted to chrome the fan at one time but it looked like a problem so I forgot that..smiles curse
