i'm still trying to sort out all the parts that i got with my pickup. it was a driver but just had the cowel and box on the frame and a 5 gal bucket for the seat. i'm down to the area below the door that gos between the cowel and the rear section of the cab, the threshold as it may be called. is this wood or was there a metal part there ? i have a wood part that looks like it belongs there but there is nothing for the bottom of the door to seal up to.or does it seal to the wood. thanks you guys have been a great help in the past

On my 33 PU the wood is covered with a metal rocker panel that the door closes against. If you look at a picture of a truck you can see an 1 1/2" strip below the door. I think the 31 is the same.

The '31 pickup does indeed have a metal "rocker" cover under the door. It covers the outside, a little of the bottom and about 2" of the top of the main sill. The main sill extends from the front of the door frame to the back of the cab. The rear door pillar fits into a pocket on the outside of the mail sill. There is a cross sill in front of the box for the seat (around the gas tank) and a much wider cross sill behind. The main sill has a ledge to hold the floor board and also the side of the seat box.
If you don't have the rocker panels they are available from several sources. All made by the same people.

Bow-Tie Reproductions www.bowtiereproductions.com/ or the Filling Station www.fillingstation.com are probably the best sources.
