Good Day All
Are there any tricks to getting the outboard bumper bolts out?
The bumper bolts are the ones at the outer most ends of the bumper. They hold the chrome single bumper to the bumper bracket.
Ive tried soaking in wd40 and applying heat. Ive been able to get the nut off but cant get the bolt to move at all.
Bye for now

With the bumper removed and turned over a 3 lb hammer should be all thats needed. Sometimes after heating quenching with cold water may help if the bolts are rusted in.

Hello fullbore,
I'm not familiar about the 32 bumper bolts. Are they the carriage type chrome headed bumper bolts that fit into a square hole in the face of the bumper? If it's that type, try soaking the whole bolt with PB Blaster penetrating oil awhile. [Found in auto parts and hardware stores.] Then use a hammer and wood drift to remove the bolt without damaging the threads. If there is no head associated with the bolt, you might be working with a stud which is permanently attached to the bumper. Again as I said, not familiar with the 32 bumper bolts.

i just removed mine using the old technique of backing off the nut until it is at the end of the bolt which protects the threads, then driving it off with a few sharp raps and a brass drift. wonderful thing the brass drift.

I had the same problem, only my bolts were broken/cut off. I finally drilled(smaller dia.) the bolt , used an easyout, and cleaned up with a tap. Lot's of piddle but what you going to do? Good luck!

Yep I got them out today.
It just took a larger hammer and more heat.

Thanks everyone for the info.

Next time, spray down onto the bolt shaft or while its turned bottom side up and let it soak, then 3-4 hours later give it another shot, let sit over nite and then, give it the 5 pound hammer death blow with a drift. Should work everytime.

Fulbore...Glad you got yours fixed!...sorry for my confusion, I was on the wrong bolt (bumper brace to frame horn).
