I have a 31 Cabriolet and the rumble seat floor has some cheap commercial carpet in it. What was the original floor covering? Front has an original black (rubber?) Fisher Mat with Chev bow tie emblems.

I ordered a book from LeBaron Bonney for that year and they included leather that is really dark brown and carpet that was dark brown. I don't think that is correct for the 31.
Anyone have info on this.

The Body plate has the following information:
Trim: 8
Paint No: 7 4
Paint charts show this to be:
English Gray; Daphnis Green; Wheels and
Pin Stripping Cream Medium.
Car is painted in this color scheme.

Thanks in Advance

There should be a rubber mat for the rumble seat floor and it matches in appearance the front rubber mat with the Chevrolet Bow Ties.

Be careful with samples from Hampton Coach (LeBaron-Bonney) because they are Ford dudes and many of the items that they show for Chevrolet are incorrect.

Some use a front floor mat and cut it to fit. The problem with that is the rumble seat mat does not have smooth places to cut out for the clutch, brake, gearshift, dimmer switch, and hand brake.

I'm confused. Did you mean to say it has smooth places to cut out?

I was interested in this post as I have the same problem with my Convertible Sport Cabriolet. I can use the Chevrolet embossed front mat with the "Body by Fisher" insignia for the front and all is correct. Then I purchased another mat with the bowtie and had to cut it up to work/fit the floor of the rumble seat. You don't want to make a mistake when cutting either one of these mats. OUCH!

The original 1931 rumble seat mat has the bow-ties the same as the front but DOES NOT have the smooth areas like the front one. Just a full field of Bow-Ties. Don't believe any one has reproduced the rumble seat mat so, folks have used a front mat without the cutouts for pedals, transmission tower and parking brake.

Chip, the rumble seat mats were made at one time. Also there is a Fisher Mat and a open car rumble seat mat.

Bruce,
Was not aware or forgot that a rumble mat was ever reproduced. If so it must have been so long ago that none are currently available. Yes, good point about the difference in the "closed" car rumble and even front floor mats being different from the "open" car mats. The "closed" Fisher Bodied cars had the Fisher Body logo molded in to the mat. The "open" car mat just had the bow-ties. Guess I should mention that the truck front mat was similar to the "open" car mat without the Fisher Body logo.

As I remember, Jim McConville made the rumble seat floor mats when he was alive. Several dealers like the Filling Station and I&I Reproduction sold the rumble seat floor mats as well.
