we received some wiper arms and blades from fs and can't figure out how they are fitted...

the hook end of the arm fits into the hole on the wiper motor shaft, but what keeps it in place?..

the arm has a cover over a spring...what does this do?..keep the blade on?..

the blades have a little hook but what keeps it on the arm?..

we're confused...

First it would be nice to know what vehicle but assume the 1930 pickup.

Put the hook of the wiper blade in the slot in the end of the arm. You will need to feed it in with the blade 90+ deg. from where it will be when installed. Next put the hook end of the arm wire into the hole in the end of the shaft of the wiper motor. Then pull the hole in the plate attached to the spring into the slot in the end just inside the hole in the wiper end. That will spring load the wiper blade and arm to keep the blade against the windshield.

If you have the later arm (incorrect for 1930) that has a cover over one end of the arm put the blade on the same as above. Then put the wire in the hole and lift the cover with the saddle into the groove.

If the above does not make sense you may have the wrong parts or I have the wrong vehicle.

Hey Chipper Dipper. I'm not sure, but I think that Kepi is talking about his 1940 pickup. He didn't mention which vehicle in his posting, so I am just guessing that it is the '40 pickup and not the 1930.  laugh laugh laugh

skip & chip,

you're right, (we're in the '37-'42 forum) so we were referring to the '40 kc...

but, thanks chip..you're third paragraph was exactly the help that was needed...
