Hi Guys, A few Chevs amongst a great set of old speedster photos http://my28chev.blogspot.com.au/2012/10/vintage-speedsters.htmlCheers Ray
Some say "Street is neat". I prefer "1928 is great" I have documented my 45 years with a 1928 Chev Tourer, from 1973 to 2018, and regulary add other items that I hope are of interest to others. Your comments are most welcome. The story of the Red Chev can be viewed at http://my28chev.blogspot.com/

Interesting photos. For anyone looking deeper, there is an excellent book, "Outlaw Sprint Car Racer" which is John Gerber's autobiography. It has many facts and figures plus many pictures of cars and drivers. Most amazing to me is a picture of his 1925 Chev block topped with an overhead cam cylinder head that he designed and built himself. This and many other books, pictures etc are available from sprintcarstuff.com which is the store for the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame.

I bought John Gerbers book and that is what got me interested in putting together a speedster. Great photos and the story behind early racing.

I see in that very first picture, VEEDOL oils...That's funny because I was just at the local antique store and they have a Veedol oil sign for sale ($40) and I had never heard of it before...!
