I am finishing up the wood for the rear doors. I am missing the original lower cross member and need a little help to get it right. Can someone give me the measurements - width, height, thickness? Also how this piece of wood fits into the curved member. Thanks.

Einar, I think I can help. Give me a few days to investigate the stash.

Einar,

I braved the goblins and had a peek in the shed. Looks like I have the bottom wood. Daylight will tell us how good it is.

Thanks Pat,

That wood was almost gone on the bottom of these doors. I was able to get a pattern made for the curved section, although I am still not sure how the bottom part should look. The long section of wood is the same as the long sectioni of the front doors. This is the last piece I have to make for all the doors. Then I can install the wood and start getting the doors aligned on the body.

By the way really like seeing the progress on your car. Looks like it is coming along. What color are you painting the car? Can't wait to see it with color.

Einar,

It'll be the same color as the cabriolet in the photo.

I'll take a picture of the bottom board tomorrow. It looks like there is a chunk missing off the top however.

Great color. My car came from the factory as Regent Maroon, it will now be Admiral blue - body and fenders.

Picture will help a lot. Thanks for your help.

Here's what I have. I can either remove the part and mail it to you or make a pattern.

Pat,

That is great, just what I need. I can get the width and height from the picture. Can you give me the thickness of that bottom piece. I see now how the curved section is finished off at the bottom. Thank you very much for the help, these picture tell the whole story.
