I have a Monroe M-2 Roadster. According to the hubcaps, it was built in Flint, Michigan. There is a possibility that I could be In Flint on Nov.26th or 27th. Is there a museum in Flint that might have an example of this car? If so, how would I contact them to be sure they would be open? I would like to finish my car, but need to see a complete one. I believe I have all the parts, but need to see how and where, some of them go. We are going from Oklahoma to Chicago over Thanksgiving, and would use this opportunity to go on to Flint if there is a car there for us to see. Ed

The Museum in Flint Michigan is the Sloan Museum. You might want to contact Tim Shickles, the Museum Curator and ask him if he knows where an old Monroe is located in the Flint, Michigan area.

Thanks for the help. I contacted the Sloan Museum, and they do have a Monroe in their collection. It is not currently on display, but I can make an appointment to see it. Is there anyone else on the forum that has a Monroe? When I bought my first one, I was told there were fourteen in existence. Is this number anyplace close to right? Thanks again, Ed.

Back in the day 1976 thru 1989 I ran a company called GASKET KING COMPANY LIMITED , specializing in N O S cylinder head gaskets. Over those 13 years I had about 4--6 enquiries from all over the world specifically about MONROE cars as best i can remember. If I remember correctly there were 2-3 different makes of engines used in this make of car.

Unfortunately all the info on how many head gaskets I sold for the 1916 era Monroes has been tossed out.

Ed,

You maybe interested in the 1916 Monroe Roadster brochure that is currently on eBay right now. Price is $87.49 and that's 30 percent off.
Hope this was of help.

Cheers,
Gary
