Has anyone converted a 1932 to front disc brakes and if so what did they use. Chevs of the 40s has a kit but it does not come with a master cylinder or pedal kit. I am wonder if anyone has done this and could give me a little guidance.
Thanks

Hopefully someone here that has done the conversion will be able to help you with your question. If not, you might want to check one of the various street rod sites for additional help since most of the guys here restore cars to stock. Good luck with your project!

I have seen a seller named FATRODDER on ebay selling master cylinder and pedal assemblies for 35 std chevrolets , i imagine he offers something for the 32 that probably has to be welded to side frame rail , but a litte home ingenuity by boxing the bracket it could be made to bolt to the side rail ???
Find fatrodders 1935 listings and when found, click on see his other items and maybe email him or call with a question.

Buyer Beware of Fatrodder! Dishonest seller in Ebay!! By: strodder34( 169) 188 out of 194 people found this guide helpful. Guide viewed: 9598 times Tags: fatrodder|street rod|rat rod|small chevy|hot rod Buyers beware of a seller in Ebay Motors by the name of Fatrodder. I had the displeasure of dealing with this seller recently. I made the mistake of not using Ebay, or PayPal, but purchased off line by phone, as I had multiple items and wanted to make sure I was ordering the correct item. The one item I did buy was a small Chevy water pump, which was junk and made in China. The pump did not fit, and had to be returned to them. They have had the water pump for over a month, and have not refunded my money as promised! The story changes every time I call, and I had to turn to Visa to dispute the purchase. They are rude, flea market flunkies, [which is what they should stick to].. They have 236 negative feedbacks or far, and all potential buyers should think before they buy from these clowns. There are enough other sellers to buy from. This is by far the worst on line purchase I have had, especially from someone in the street rod hobby. Everyone I have dealt with in this hobby has been honest and true to their word, not this seller. The owner is never available to talk to, they do not return calls or emails, and hang up when their refund policy is questioned. Don't deal with them, enough said!!!!!!!

I am pretty sure he operates on ebay with 5 different names and his location in IOWA ?? is always the same.
So people are not just looking at fatrodder name should also look for sellers location.

I'm using a kit from ECI on a 1929 Speedster project. It was very complete and easy to bolt on with no special tools. They have a 6 lug rotor kit as well as 5 lug, but I doubt you could use wire wheels with them. The kit does not include a pedal kit or master cylinder. They do, though, carry an underfloor clutch and brake pedal kit, master cylinders and virtually every other piece you will need. Here's a link to their site: http://ecihotrodbrakes.com/There are quite few other vendors that carry these kits. Are you building a hot rod? Why do you want to convert to discs?

To use original wire wheels on a disc brake setup, builder probably would have to purchase wheel adaptors which are about 1 INCH thick. They would have to examine whether the adaptor sits completely inside the flange area of the wire wheel where it bolts up to rotor. That center of the rim part of the wheel must not touch the caliper when mounted otherwise the wheel has runout and will break all your studs clean off at 30 mph. Go ahead and ask me how i know this! Putting 10" cragars on rear of 75 elcamino SS 454, the adaptor was just barely touching a weight casting on the brake drum, making it not sit perfectly flat, just enough to cause a tow truck ride, 5 busted studs and a quarter panel seriously dented up and $300 cash removal from my wallet ! mike lynch
