I have been looking for a hand crank starter for my 1926 chevy. Would anyone have a picture of what I am looking for so I have an idea? I have also been told that they are shorter lengths than the 28's and later because the hoods were longer. Does anyone know if that is true? Thanks for any help.

Leroy yes they are shorter, mine (1927) is 100 miles away or I would send pic but I see them on ebay often for about 25-30 bucks Ken
I have a 1927 Chevy Capital AA 4 Door also a 1927 Chevy Touring car, a 1936 Chevy 1/2 ton and a 2010 Corvette LT3 Convertible and a 1953 Packard Caribbean. My tow car is a 2011 Suburban.

Thats ok. Thanks anyway. Ya I have seen a few on there, but I just didn't know which one is for my car. Usually when they post it they write something like "Model a t chevy ford dodge 24' 27' 31' reo". So I am always afraid to buy one because it might be for a ford or something.

Thats ok. I would rather find an original one because the car is all original. I don't need to use it, just thought it would be neat to have one in the car. I think it would be more complete. Do the chevy cranks have the lug nut socket on the handle or is that for a different car?

The handle does not have a lug nut socket. The handle has a cover that does not turn when the crank is used.
